Relax in the heart of Southern Burgundy

On the wine-route, nestled in a two-hundred-year-old park with majestic trees, Clos Ceres offers peace, tranquility, and relaxation amidst the vineyards.

The house takes its name from the Roman goddess Ceres, goddess of agriculture, harvests, and the grape harvest. This uniquely charming building dates back to the early 19th century. It has been carefully renovated, respecting the history of the place, to create maximum comfort and authenticity.

With its four bedrooms and numerous common areas, it is now a welcoming and warm guesthouse, which you can also rent as a self-catering cottage for families or groups of friends.

BE WELCOME!

It was in May 2025 that I happily took over this magnificent guesthouse, Clos Ceres.

Carefully renovated by my predecessors, who poured their hearts into it, this exceptional property has so much to offer. First and foremost, to you, travelers who appreciate the good life, the beauty of the world, and the serenity of our countryside. And also to me, energized by this new project, this new life, and already delighted by the many encounters and smiles of my guests, gathered each day like a beautiful bouquet, like the flowers in our garden. Come and refresh this bouquet, bring your scents, your colors, and make Clos Ceres shine. My name is Elodie, and I can't wait to meet you!

Clos Ceres guesthouse in Viré earns Green Key eco-label 2026 certification

NEWS

Le Clos Ceres has been awarded the prestigious international Green Key (Clef Verte) label! 🌿🗝️

It is with immense joy and great pride that I share a major milestone in our guesthouse's history with you: Le Clos Ceres is now officially Green Key certified!

With this inaugural certification, Le Clos Ceres joins a global network of tourist accommodations committed to a greener future.

What is the Green Key label?
Green Key (developed in France by the association Teragir) is the leading international sustainable tourism label for tourist accommodations and restaurants. Recognized across five continents, it rewards establishments that meet strict environmental criteria and are actively committed to the ecological transition.
To earn this demanding label, each property undergoes an audit covering numerous areas: water and energy management, waste reduction and recycling, responsible purchasing, preservation of local biodiversity, and raising guest awareness.

For Le Clos Ceres, this certification is official recognition of a philosophy I cultivate every day.

Our concrete commitments to a sustainable stay in Southern Burgundy
In practical terms, what does this mean for your holidays or stopovers with us? We continue to offer the same experience of unwinding and enjoying the good life, while stepping up our eco-friendly initiatives:
- A delicious, eco-conscious breakfast: every morning, I prepare homemade treats for you using organic ingredients and/or products selected from local producers.
- A focus on eco-friendly travel: holding the "Accueil Vélo" (Cyclists Welcome) label, Le Clos Ceres is the perfect stopover for cycling or e-biking tours in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards. - A preserved garden: our large park is managed using gentle methods to foster local biodiversity, conserve water resources, and offer you a true natural haven of peace.
- Responsible comfort: leisure amenities (billiards, piano, a high-quality shared kitchen, a boules court) designed to help you slow down and enjoy genuine, unpretentious moments of connection.

Join the "Slow Tourism" journey
Whether you are stopping by briefly on your holiday route (our home is ideally located near major north-south highways) or coming to explore the gems of Southern Burgundy (from Tournus to Cluny, via Mâcon), you can rest assured that your stay respects our beautiful planet.

A huge thank you to you—your loyalty and invaluable feedback give me the energy to grow Clos Ceres through this human-centered, sustainable approach.
